The Enneagram Personality Test

I am not a fan of personality tests. I don’t like being put in a box. It took me a while to hop on the enneagram train but once I did, I realized that it doesn’t confine me and is not like a standard personality test. I was first introduced to it from one of my besties. She talked a bit about “the enneagram” and it intrigued me. After some encouragement she said to try it. So I told my hubby about it and he took it right away. I took it too... just three months later.

What can I say... I am a little bit of a procrastinator. I knew one of my daughters was reading and learning about it so I asked to borrow a book about it from her called: “The Road Back to You” (by By Ian Cron and Suzanne Stabile) and the rest is history. I started listening to podcasts and learning more about how the numbers not only help me know who I am but also how I interact with others.

When you spend the majority of your day with people you share pretty much everything. I love to talk. I started talking about the enneagram (ummm, pretty much it’s alI I talked about) and really wanted Mandy to take the test. Once she saw her results she was hooked too! We asked everyone that works at Swagger to take the test. It is SO fun and eye opening to see what motivates each employee to come into work every day and slay. Because that’s what we do, we slay;-).

If you are like me and are a little skeptical or maybe you just haven’t heard about the enneagram it is a in-depth personality test. There are nine core types that encompass what motivates you. Unlike other personality tests, this would not change depending on the season of life you are in, this carries throughout your life. I feel like I am just scratching the surface and learning more... but I’ve considered becoming a enneagram coach after all the questions I receive at Swagger! :-)

I think the main reason I love it is that it’s created a deeper empathy within me for each type of person. In my family, every single person is a different number on the test and knowing this it makes so much sense. It has taught me to see what it’s like through their eyes and create a dialogue that can bring us together instead of just seeing and interacting in the world so completely differently.

We would LOVE to know your number! There is a free online assessment you can take online at https://enneagramtest.net. If you are not sure those results accurately describe you then you could take this more in-depth assessment that only costs $10 https://www.wepss.com. The other option is to read The Road Back To You. I would highly recommend it. If you get hooked on it like I did, there are podcasts, books and ME you can talk to when you come and shop at Swagger. Can’t wait to hear what you are!
