Hey Ya’ll, It’s Mandy!
We just got back from the Atlanta market and we purchased so many cool and new gifts that I know you all are going to love! This year, I made it our goal to carry more brands that do good for our community or give back in some manner. I wanted to share with you some of those brands and items we are bringing to Swagger. Some brands are new, and some are companies you have seen in Swagger before. Here are some that we love!!
Made from recycled materials, every bracelet purchased funds the removal of 1 pound of trash from the ocean and coastlines. In less than 2 years, 4ocean has removed 2,792,162 pounds of trash from the ocean and coastlines. 4ocean currently operates out of multiple countries and employs over 150 people worldwide.
25% of all profit goes to charities helping end Human Trafficking (Polaris), support Crisis & Disaster Relief (Samaritan's Purse), and Pet Rescue & Adoption (Red Rover), as well as providing Clean Drinking Water (World Help) to those who need it most.
3. Bella Tuna-
Bella Tunno, in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank and Feeding America, teams up to help operate an ongoing, monthly food pantry for families at Albemarle Road Elementary School (Charlotte, NC). This program is designed to help ensure children have enough nutritious food to eat and come to school prepared to learn. Each pantry provides staple goods, produce, meat, eggs, whole grain breads and essential non-food items like toilet paper and diapers, on average providing 40 to 50 pounds of food for low-income families.
It all started with meals. Banded's 1=3 giveback program works with food ministry partners in Latin America and the Caribbean to provide 3 meals to a child in need for every 1 BANDED product sold. It’s that simple. 1 Banded product sold = 3 meals served. With the help of loyal customers like you -- the BANDED woman -- they are proud to have provided more than 10.4 million meals to undernourished children. Beyond the meals. BANDED partners with U.S. based companies that help vulnerable women learn to thrive by learning new skills and finding work at living wages.
5. Scout Curated Wears -
10% for women - As a company founded and led by women they highly value promoting women and families. They believe that all women have the right to reach their full potential. When women have the tools to succeed, everyone benefits. That’s why they pledge to give 10% of net profits to organizations that help support and promote women.
Who run the world? Girls!! (Thanks, Beyonce)
6. Design For Joy-
A company local to Raleigh!!! Together with volunteers and financial supporters like you, DFJ is creating living wage artisan jobs here in North Carolina. They are devoted to creating a work environment that values self-care, family support, and Christian faith. Their artists are those those living at high risk for sex and labor trafficking and/or food and housing insecurities. They partner with long running ministries serving women (and sometimes men) that may be coming out of emergency situations, generational poverty, homelessness, rehab, or jail. They also partner with a seniors and elderly widows group.
These are just a few companies that I have chosen to highlight that are in or coming to Swagger. I hope that in 2019 you will join me in helping our neighbors and community in need. Lets make this world a better place!
Until next time, Swagger Babes!
