Bad in Plaid

Let’s talk about a historic fall fashion staple: plaid. We’ve been wearing plaid for longer than we can remember, and it’ll never go out of style一but how much style does it really have? When I think plaid my mind goes to lumberjacks, mountain men, and farmers. So how do we make plaid stylish for us girls, aside from the basic flannel look?

Hayride Honey ($38)
So let's start with a basic flannel. It's up to you to style and accessorize it to make it less, well, mountain man. Pairing a flannel (I like it to be a little oversized!) with some Spanx leggings or your favorite jeans and a cute bootie is an easy and fall-chic look for a day of shopping or a casual date night look! Add some earrings and a cute over the shoulder bag and you're ready to go.

Still Into You ($36)
A flannel with a little bit of flare一this front tie accent adds a little bit of a feminine touch to this plaid top. Pop open a top button (or two if you're feeling yourself) and this top would be a great going-out piece for the colder months!

Small Talk ($38)
This plaid blazer is EVERYTHING. Blazer's are a huge trend this fall, and the plaid makes it even more of a classic look (not to mention tit is the perfect Halloween/Thanksgiving color palette). This use of plaid strays from the stereotypical flannel, and will make you stand out at work boss babe!

Breaking Plaid ($46)
This sweater is one of my favorites. The use of color is so unlike any plaid piece I've ever seen一it's so fun!

For the Thrill ($34)
Black and white plaid? Yes please! The sleeves on this top really embellish the look and give you room to dress it up or down. Wear it to work or to a party, or even do lounge around the house一it's comfy, trust me!

Blurred Lines ($38)
This plaid skirt is such a different way to wear plaid, and goes with so much. Add a pop of color on top and some cute shoes on the bottom, and you're ready to hit the town!
